Company History

Castel Electronics is the exclusive distributor of Daewoo Electronics, Orion, McIntosh Audio Visual products and TCL air conditioners in Australia. Head office is situated in Preston, Melbourne with offices in Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia and Western Australia.

Castel Electronics commenced trading in 1989 in Collingwood, Victoria.

Our products are distributed throughout 900 retail outlets nationally with a comprehensive after sales network of over 300 service agents throughout Australia.

Daewoo Electronics
Daewoo Electronics, based in South Korea, is a leading provider of home appliances and multi-media products for the global marketplace. Daewoo Electronics operated 16 subsidiaries with 42 branches in over 30 countries. With pace-setting technologies, highly reliable products, and a worldwide network and services Daewoo Electronics provides HDTVs, DVDs, Refrigerators, Washing Machines, Microwave Ovens, Air-conditioners and Vacuum Cleaners around the world.

Orion
With a well established reputation both in Australia and overseas, Orion has an enviable track record for durability and reliability. Originating in Japan in 1958, Orion has established new markets in Europe, USA and Australia with its expansion into Colour Television, DVD, Combination models and Plasma. The originator of the televideo concept, Orion operates 9 factories throughout the world and produces in excess of 10 million CTVs, DVD and VCRs annually (both Orion and OEM). Rigorous pre-testing programs before shipment ensure the high quality and reliability that is synonymous with the Orion brand.

McIntosh
The critically acclaimed McIntosh home audio range is an indisputable audio statement of style and quality of the highest calibre. McIntosh’s outstanding craftsmanship, dependability, timeless styling and enduring value are just some of the qualities that have contributed to the American legend that is McIntosh. Castel ranges a full compliment of McIntosh Power and Integrated Amplifiers, Multi-Zone and Control Centre components, Source Components and Speakers systems.

TCL
TCL Corporation is a comprehensive large-scale Chinese manufacturer established in 1981. From its roots as a small audio cassette-manufacturer it has become one of the fastest-growing major industrial manufacturers of recent times. The company has diversified into many areas such as multimedia electronics, home electrical appliances, telecommunications equipment, information components and electronics components making it one of the biggest home appliance manufacturing enterprises in China. TCL is presently ranked fourth in China's 100 most prestigious Electronics and IT enterprises. Castel distributes a comprehensive range of TCL air conditioning systems (cooling and reverse cycle). As of December 2004 TCL is the only brand laboratory tested against AS1807.8. As a result TCL’s triple action air filtration system has been found to reduce specific air-borne particles and allergens by over 91%.
